House Cleaning Tips
Chest Cooler
The best way to clean a chest cooler is to use a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate with baking soda sprinkled on for a more abrasive action. Scrub then rinse well. Leave the cooler open until completely dry.
Garbage Cans
To clean garbage cans, first rinse out the can using a hose or water and a long-handled brush (such as a toilet brush). Dump the water out and then wash it out with a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate. Let the solution stand for 10 minutes, scrub the trash can, then rinse again. Turn upside down to dry.
Painted Walls and Wallpaper
To clean painted walls or wallpaper, simply spray a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate on the soiled area, allow it to penetrate for a few minutes, then wipe clean. Repeat if necessary. Be sure to try the solution in a hidden area first, to test for colorfastness. Work in sections from the bottom up to prevent streaks. Let dry for a few minutes and wipe dry with a clean cloth. Baking soda can be sprinkled on a nylon scrubbing pad for a more abrasive action. For stubborn grease stains, make a paste of baking soda and Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate. Apply the paste to the spot then allow to dry. When the paste dries and becomes powdery, brush it off. Repeat if necessary. Pencil marks can often be removed by rubbing gently with a clean pencil eraser.
Rubber or Vinyl Odor
Unfortunately, the “new” smell of rubber is just the nature of the product. Vinyl or rubber odor results from additives and stabilizers that give the vinyl its particular performance attributes. These components are confined when newly manufactured products are packed for shipment, but as the products are unwrapped and aired out, the odors begin to spread and soon dissipate. Try leaving the object outside on a nice windy day.
Vinyl Tablecloth
To remove stains from a vinyl tablecloth, simply spray Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate on the soiled area, then allow it to penetrate for approximately 5 minutes, scrub gently with a damp nylon scrubbing pad or a toothbrush, then wipe clean. For stubborn stains, make a paste of baking soda and Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate. Apply the paste to the stain. Allow it to sit for a half hour, then rinse clean.
Windows
To keep windows clean, keep up regular maintenance. Stick to a schedule: four times a year. For best results, spray a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate on a cloth diaper (it’s soft and won’t scratch the glass) or coffee filter (it’s lint-free). Wash windows on cloudy days when they are damp so you’ll be able to see every fingerprint and mark. Sunny days are less ideal for window washing since the windows dry too quickly, leaving marks behind. For dried latex paint, rub with a cotton swab or toothbrush soaked in rubbing alcohol, then wipe the paint away.
Window Screens
To clean your window screens, you have two options – wet or dry. You can use the brush attachment with a vacuum cleaner to vacuum dust and dirt away. The brush will help to get in the small holes of the screen. You can also try laying the screen against an outside wall or fence or in your bathtub. Rinse thoroughly with a hose (or shower head attachment) to remove most of the dirt. Scrub with a nylon brush and a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate . Dry thoroughly before placing the screens back on the windows. If you remove more than one window at a time, you may want to use a permanent marker to write a number on the window or doorframe and mark the same number on the corresponding screen. This makes it easier to put each clean screen back where it belongs.
