Arborite Counter Cleaning and Stain Removal
Arborite can be cleaned with a mild liquid cleaner, such as a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate. If there are stubborn stains, make a paste of baking soda and Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate. Apply the paste to the stains and let it sit for 30 minutes before rinsing. Keep in mind that scorch marks are not stains and therefore may only be lightened and not permanently removed.
Cabinets and Knobs
To clean kitchen cabinets and knobs of cooking grease or stickiness left behind by orange oil cleaners, use a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate. Simply spray the soiled cabinets with Bio-OX, allow it to sit for several minutes, then wipe clean. If any stickiness remains, try using a paste of baking soda and Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate. Apply it directly to the soiled area to remove any residue without harming the finish.
Chest Freezer
When defrosting a chest type freezer, use a clean mop to swab the hard to reach bottom of the freezer. After all the water has been mopped up, spray the bottom and sides of the freezer chest with a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate and allow it to sit for several minutes before rinsing clean. Baking soda can be sprinkled on for a more abrasive cleaning action.
Dish Cloths
To keep your cleaning cloths smelling fresh, wash the cloths in hot water with 1 cup of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate added to the wash water.
Dishwasher
To completely rid the inside of your dishwasher of odors, mold or mildew, spray the interior with a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate. Allow several minutes for Bio-OX to penetrate the odor, then run a short cycle.
Formica
Formica countertops and cabinets can be cleaned with a mild cleaner, such as Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate; spray it on, wipe with a damp sponge, then rinse and wipe dry. Sprinkle counters with baking soda for a more abrasive action. Rub gently with a nylon scrubbing pad. For stubborn spots, such as tea and coffee, make a paste of baking soda and Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate. Apply the paste to the soiled area. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then scrub with a nylon scouring pad. Repeat if necessary. For a greasy stain, use a little rubbing alcohol. If the Formica has yellowed, it is likely that over time, the Formica has yellowed from sun exposure and there may not be anything you can do about it. However, don’t give up yet. You can try sponging on a bleach and water solution, but don’t leave it on there too long, just a minute or so, then rinse well with clean water. (Make sure to wear rubber gloves and old clothing when working with bleach and be sure to protect surrounding surfaces from bleach drips. To remove a yellow bleach stain from your countertop, you can try using a paste of baking soda and water. Let it sit for half an hour, then scrub the area with a damp nylon scouring pad. Unfortunately, you may be stuck with the stain since once something is bleached, the chemical reaction is not reversible.
Granite
To clean granite, simply spray a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate on the soiled area, allow it to penetrate for a few minutes, then wipe clean. Baking soda can be sprinkled on for a more abrasive cleaning action. Repeat if necessary. Thoroughly rinse and buff dry. To remove stains from granite, make a paste of baking soda and Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate, then cover the stain with the paste. Cover the paste with a damp cloth, leave overnight, then wet down and scrub with a nonmetallic scrubbing pad. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Rinse thoroughly. Wipe up any spills as they happen so they don’t soak in.
Marble
To clean a marble countertop, simply spray Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate on the soiled area, allow it to penetrate for a few minutes, then wipe clean. Baking soda can be sprinkled on for a more abrasive cleaning action. Repeat if necessary. Thoroughly rinse and buff dry. To remove stains from marble, make a paste of baking soda and Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate and cover the stain with the paste. Cover the paste with a damp cloth, leave overnight, then wet down and scrub with a nonmetallic scrubbing pad. Rinse thoroughly. Wipe up any spills as they happen so they don’t soak in. If this occurs, you’ll need to have your counters professionally rebuffed. Always use a cutting board with a towel underneath it, when working with acidic foods such as lemons, vinegar or alcohol (which can damage the natural shine of marble in a matter of seconds) and foods such as beets or red wine (which can discolor the surface). The marble can be sealed with a commercial sealant or carnauba wax. You’ll need to test the seal after a few years of use. Simply apply a few droplets of water to the surface. If the water beads, your countertop is maintaining its seal. If the water soaks into the countertop, consider reapplying the sealant.
Microwave Oven
To clean the exterior of your microwave oven, spray it with a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate. Allow several minutes for Bio-OX to work before wiping clean. For a more abrasive action, try sprinkling on some baking soda before gently scrubbing. This should remove any residue without harming the finish. To thoroughly clean the inside of your microwave oven, add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to a cup of water in a microwave safe bowl. Heat the mixture and allow to boil for approximately 5 minutes. Wipe out the inside with a sponge. If you have some difficult stains inside your microwave oven, take a 3 cup glass microwavable container, fill with 1 cup water and 1 cup white vinegar. Microwave for 5 minutes uncovered. Then wipe down with warm sponge. For daily cleaning, simply spray the interior with an all-purpose dilution of Bio-OX and allow 5-10 minutes for the peroxide and detergents to penetrate all the food and grease that has built up. Wipe clean when the time is up.
Oven
Assuming the oven is not self-cleaning, first warm the oven to 150ºF, turn it off, then spray the interior with Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate or a heavy duty dilution of Bio-OX. Let stand for approximately 15 minutes, and the grease should rub off easily. For oven racks and broiler pans that are encrusted with grime, spray generously with ammonia, seal tightly in a garbage bag, and let set for 4 hours. To clean a brown-stained oven window, make a paste of water and baking soda. Simply coat the inside of the window with the mixture, leave for 10 minutes and then rinse off with water.
Range Hood Filter Screen
While it’s always a good idea to wipe the outside of your range hood with a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate while doing your regular kitchen cleaning, the inside doesn’t require your attention as often. To clean accumulated dust, grease and grime from the metal filters or screens of your range hood, simply spray with a heavy duty dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate, allow it to sit for several minutes, then wipe clean. If you are able to remove the parts, you can also try running them through the normal wash cycle of your dishwasher, but always check your manufacturer’s care instructions first. Be sure to clean or replace your range hood filter every six months.
Refrigerator
You can keep your refrigerator doors looking like new by cleaning them with a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate. Simply spray, then allow it to sit for a few minutes before wiping clean. Stove Burners
The best way to clean stove burners is to gently pull them out of the stove top, then simply spray Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate on the soiled area and allow it to penetrate for approximately 5 minutes. When time is up, wash with a grease cutting dish detergent and warm water. Do not submerse them or allow the electrical connection to get wet. If there is food or burnt particles stuck to them, use baking soda as a cleanser. Use it as you would a cleansing scrub, or if you have stubborn stains you can make a paste with baking soda and Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate and let it sit for 30 minutes, then scrub. Be sure to rinse them thoroughly with clean water. Depending on the condition of the burners you may not get them just like new (if they are scratched, worn, etc.), but you should be able to get them thoroughly clean.
Stovetop
To remove grease and dried on food from your stovetop, simply spray Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate on the soiled area, then allow it to sit for approximately 5 minutes. Rinse well. If the stain persists, repeat the process. Baking soda can be used along with Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate for a more abrasive action by either sprinkling it on or making a paste of baking soda and Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate, which can be left on the soiled area overnight and scrubbed off in the morning with a nylon scouring pad. Repeat as necessary.
